no account, nothing collected

Your notebooks are just files. Yours to keep.

Every notebook is a file you can see in your folders, back up however you like, and keep forever, whether or not Tansy is open. There's no Tansy account, and the app collects nothing about you.

Sync your way

Keep your library in iCloud Drive, or a folder you choose in OneDrive, Dropbox or Google Drive. Edits from two devices merge, so nothing gets lost.

  • Your library lives in a folder you choose, or just on your device
  • Edits from two devices merge, so neither side's changes are lost
  • Works offline: on a plane or in a cabin, Tansy just opens
  • No Tansy account, no Tansy server, nothing uploaded to us

Nothing lost, nothing exposed

  • Go back to an earlier version, name the ones that matter, or bring back something deleted by accident
  • Daily encrypted backups to any folder or drive you choose, and the whole library as one file whenever you like
  • Lock Tansy with your face, fingerprint or a password, and encrypt a whole space
  • If you don't buy after the trial, everything you made still opens, prints and exports

Bring your notes, take them with you

  • Import from GoodNotes, Notion, Obsidian, Evernote and Scrivener
  • Import Word, Markdown, PDF, ePub, Fountain, Final Draft, Anki, MusicXML and PSD
  • Export to PDF, Word, ePub, Markdown, HTML, PNG, JPEG, PSD, MusicXML, MIDI, ABC and CSV
  • Your files are never locked behind a plan

Questions about your files

Do I need an account to use Tansy?

No. There's no Tansy account. Your library is a folder of files on your device or in a drive you choose.

What data does Tansy collect?

None. Nothing is uploaded to us and the app collects no data about you.

How does sync work without an account?

Put your library in iCloud Drive, or a folder in OneDrive, Dropbox or Google Drive. Each device reads the same files, and Tansy merges edits from each side.

What happens to my files if I stop using Tansy?

They're still in your folder. Everything opens, reads, prints and exports whether or not you buy, and you can export to common formats at any time.
