Is there a subscription?+
No. You pay once for the app and it's yours. Templates, sticker packs and spaces in the Stationery Shop are optional one-off purchases.
How much does it cost?+
$19.99 from launch day on August 12, 2027 until September 10, 2027, then $29.99. Either way it's a single purchase.
Can I try it first?+
Yes. Every new install gets a free 14-day trial with everything unlocked. If you don't buy, everything you made still opens, reads, prints and exports; making and editing need the purchase.
Which devices does it run on?+
iPad, iPhone, Mac, Windows and Android, from the App Store, Mac App Store, Microsoft Store and Google Play. On Apple devices, one purchase covers your iPad, iPhone and Mac; Windows and Android are each bought in their own store. You'll need iPadOS or iOS 16, macOS 13, Windows 11 or Android 10, or later.
What can I do on my phone?+
Write and edit documents, scripts and chapters, listen back to what you wrote, study your decks, tick off planner tasks and add log entries. Notebooks, art and boards open to read and zoom. Spaces and their boards are for bigger screens.
Where are my notebooks saved?+
In a library you choose: iCloud Drive, a folder in OneDrive, Dropbox or Google Drive, or just on your device. They're regular files you can see. Nothing is uploaded to us, there's no Tansy account, and the app collects no data about you.
Can I use it on more than one device?+
Yes. Put your library in iCloud Drive or a synced folder, and Tansy merges changes from each device so neither side's edits are lost.
Can I bring my notes from another app?+
Tansy imports exports from GoodNotes, Notion, Obsidian, Evernote and Scrivener, plus Word, Markdown, PDF, ePub, Fountain, Final Draft, Anki, MusicXML and PSD files, and brushes from Procreate, Photoshop and Clip Studio.
Do I need a stylus?+
Only for handwriting and drawing. Documents, scripts, tasks, cards and tables work great with just a keyboard. Apple Pencil, Windows pens, Android styluses and drawing tablets all work.
Which languages is it in?+
Tansy's menus and buttons come in English, Spanish, Japanese, Traditional Chinese and Simplified Chinese. You can write in any language, with furigana and vertical writing for Japanese and Chinese.
Can I use Stationery Shop stickers and templates in things I sell?+
No. They're for your own use: print your pages and share pictures of them, but please don't sell the stickers or templates, or pages made with them, or use them for business.
When does it launch?+
On August 12, 2027, after a small private beta in the weeks before.
How do I join the beta?+
Leave your email in the beta form at the bottom of this page and tell us which device you'd test on. The beta is small, so not everyone gets a spot; we'll email you if you're in, and everyone on the list hears when Tansy launches. Testers install it through TestFlight on Apple devices, the Microsoft Store on Windows and Google Play on Android.
